Gianfranco Ravà, a lawyer qualified to practise before the higher courts, practices in the field of civil law. He is specialized in family law, contract law, bankruptcy proceedings and civil liability. Teacher assistant in Sports Law, he attended a specific post-degree course in "Sports Law and Management" carrying out university assistance activities. Since 2013 he has been a member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Sport Law and Management Link Campus University; a member of the Council of the Master's Degree Course in Business Management and coordinator for the Sport Business Management curriculum Link Campus University. Furthermore, he is professor of "Sports Institution Law". He has been a consultant of the editorial “Il Momento Legislativo” since 1999. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Association for Europe. In November 2005 he was one of the founders of the Association “Laboratorio forense” established as a contribute for the continuous teaching of the Lawyers of the Court of Rome, with the purpose of discussing and examining the legislative innovations of major interest to the legal profession. President of the Sports Law Chamber. He has held numerous positions in the various degrees of sports justice in a number of National Sports Federations, reaching the national presidency of the Italian Timekeepers Federation (F.I.Cr.) for the four-year terms 2009 - 2012 and 2012 -2016 . He is a member of the C.O.N.I. National Council and the Italian Paralympic Committee. He was awarded the gold star for sporting merit by the C.O.N.I. in December 2009. On 9 July 2013, he was appointed by the C.O.N.I. Council as Extraordinary Commissioner of the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (F.I.S.E.), a position he held until 30 March 2015.
