LINK LAB - LABORATORY FOR SOCIAL RESEARCH

Director of the Link LAB: Prof. Nicola Ferrigni
Scientific Director: Prof. Marica Spalletta

Link LAB is the Laboratory of Social Research of Link Campus University. Its aim is to carry out specialized research related to the study of contemporary society through various analytical tools.

The main thematic areas characterizing the research activity of Link Lab are the following:

  • the universe of Italian youth and their perception of issues such as politics, work, school and university, values, bullying, technology, cultural consumption, etc., through the activities of the Generazione Proteo Observatory;
  • suicides due to economic reasons, for which Link LAB is the main accredited source of data by virtue of the Observatory on the phenomenon launched in 2012;
  • the social effects of public policies (public order, security, welfare, etc.);
  • the management of security in sporting events and major events (with particular regard to the phenomena of ultras and violence in stadiums);
  • the mediatisation of cultural processes (politics, sports, religion, terrorism, etc.) and the effects on the evolution of journalistic phenomena, through its Social & Media research area.

Since 2012, Link LAB features two different observatories: “Generazione Proteo”, the permanent observatory on young students of theLINK Campus University, and the Observatory "Suicides for economic reasons". Both observatories are coordinated by Nicola Ferrigni.

The two 'historical' observatories were joined in 2023 by the Observatory GEMINI-Gender Equality & Diversity nei Media Audiovisivi, established within the framework of the activities of the international research project GEMINI-Gender Equality Through Media Investigation and New Training Insights
