Course description and objectives

The aim of the PhD is to guarantee a higher education aimed at studying the impacts and implications that new technologies have in law, in the organization of work, within the micro-macro-economic framework and in society.
The course aims to provide tools and methods within the legal, economic-financial, sociological and technological fields, even in foreign and multicultural scientific contexts, in orde to allow doctoral students to respond adequately to the new challenges related to the evolution of legal, economic and social science and the changes that result from new technologies and impact on society.

The Doctorate explores three main lines of research:

  • new technologies, legal person and legal protection;
  • new technologies, enterprise and economy 4.0;
  • new technologies, humankind and society.

Career opportunities

The pronounced interdisciplinary nature and the focus on the new technological frontiers of the course offers the candidates the necessary tools to face the new challenges that the information society and emerging technologies pose in the legal, economic-financial, and social fields. Possibilities of occupational and professional insertion can be, among others: the performance of highly qualified research activities at universities, public bodies and private entities; access to the managerial roles of local, national and supranational public administrations, as well as institutions of the European Union and/or international organizations, insertion in the sectors of industry and commerce at companies with a high propensity for innovation and the use of new technologies; the start of the free profession as a lawyer with specialized skills and as an expert in the analysis of the organization of work and processes of regulation of the economy, finance and labor market in the light of new technologies and changing regulatory frameworks.
