The Master's Degree in Strategic Studies and Diplomatic Sciences is inspired by an interdisciplinary approach, in which the contents and methodologies of Political Science, Sociology of Communication, Law, Economics and Statistics integrate each other.

The Master's Degree in Strategic Studies and Diplomatic Sciences is a particularly complex course, made prestigious by the joint effort of an excellent teaching staff, and characterized by extremely specialized collateral activities.

Modality of attendance

The teaching activities are presential, but for eligible students it is also possible to participate in live streaming, interacting live with the classroom.

CURRICULA

Government and political decision (LM-52)

The aim of this learning pathway is to train highly specialized professional figures capable of taking sophisticated decisions and interacting with a wide range of bureaucratic organizations. It addresses issues related to the growing needs for innovation; new communication and information tools, as well as systemic interrelationships among local, national, European, and global decision-making levels.

The course provides specialised knowledge in the field of diplomatic science and international law, resolution of conflicts and peace-building, policies on energy and climate change, political value of identity and religious dynamics.

The learning pathway is especially focused on providing the essential skills required to plan policies, apparatuses and procedures during crises, emergencies and pandemics.

Traditional didactic approaches are enriched with moments of in-depth study with experts (journalists, communicators, representatives of institutions, etc.) and participation in seminars, meetings and workshops.

Students will have the opportunity to write on several thematic blogs such as Geohub, an online space for in-depth analysis on international policy.

Career opportunities

The multidisciplinary approach, enables the candidates to develop the skills necessary to establish themselves as specialists in political and social sciences, legal sciences, and economics on mid-level and high-level positions in both the public and private sectors.

Upon completion of the course, the candidates may aspire to the following positions:

• politicians, officials and managers of parties, trade unions and trade associations
• senior officials and managers of local, regional, ministerial and state administrations

International relations

The aim of the International Relations learning pathway is to train professional figures capable of interacting with international, governmental and non-governmental organizations and institutions; defining, promoting and realizing strategies within the framework of international relations, even in situations of crisis; professionals capable of directing and/or co-ordinating development co-operation projects, communication campaigns, initiatives for the promotion of internationalization.

This particular approach, is especially focused on the emerging themes of international relations, such as energy and climate policies, the management of crises with increasingly undefined contours, the conflicting strategies of the protagonists of international politics.

The course provides the students with all the specialized skills required to move with competence in the political scenarios of the infosphere, through the knowledge acquired in the areas of cyber security, the risks of disinformation, cyber warfare, social engineering and hacking.
