Chiara Nicolazzo is Associate Professor (SSD BIOS-09/A) at Link University. She graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology and a registered pharmacist in Rome. She attained a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and a specialization in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry at La Sapienza University in Rome. Prof. Nicolazzo is distinguished by her extensive experience in the field of liquid biopsy, with a focus on molecular analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTC) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA).
Her studies have introduced innovative methods for the isolation and characterization of tumor biomarkers, with significant clinical applications. Her most significant contributions include the first approach to characterizing clonal evolution in RAS mutated colorectal cancers by liquid biopsy, as well as the discovery of the “neo-RAS wild type” phenomenon, which has had a direct impact on the adaptive use of EGFR inhibitors in clinical oncology. She authored more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and holds editorial positions, including Guest Editor for high-profile journals. 
During her period as a researcher at Sapienza University of Rome, she carried out intensive teaching activity in molecular diagnostics and clinical pathology in Master in Pharmacy, Degree Courses, Research Doctorates and Academic Masters.
