Enrico Desideri is Associate Professor of Biochemistry (BIOS-07A, formerly BIO/10) at the Department of Life Sciences, Health and Health Professions, Link Campus University. Previously, he was RTDA Researcher and Professor of General and Sports Biochemistry at the San Raffaele Telematic University in Rome.
He attained a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2012 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
From 2014 to 2018, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Perutz Labs of the University of Vienna, Austria.
From 2019 to 2022, he was a research fellow at the University of Rome Tor Vergata thanks to a three-year grant awarded by the AIRC foundation.
His research activity is mainly related to the physiological and pathological roles of lysosomes and autophagy, with particular focus on their role in cancer. The results of his research activity are published in international peer-reviewed journals.
