Giorgio Malpeli is a professor of the Technical Sciences of Laboratory Medicine at the Department of Life Sciences, Health and Health Professions, Link Campus University, Rome. He attained a degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Parma. His scientific training in Biochemical Sciences involved the identification of structural and functional properties of proteins responsible for vitamin A transport. Subsequently, he obtained his PhD in Human Pathological Oncology acquiring consolidated multidisciplinary knowledge and practical research skills.
Giorgio Malpeli is involved in tutoring and teaching activities in various fields of biology.
His research activity is mainly focused on the study of molecular mechanisms underlying physiological and pathological biological processes. He is an expert in epigenetic molecular mechanisms, particularly in the fields of DNA methylation and microRNAs and their relationships with cellular processes. Giorgio Malpeli is involved in research projects aimed at elucidating molecular and cellular mechanisms that support cancer and genetic diseases in collaboration with researchers from various universities. He has contributed to the identification and characterization of biomarkers that can be translated into therapies for the treatment of diseases.
Giorgio Malpeli authored 61 articles in international scientific journals with 2658 citations and H-index=30 (Scopus).
