Over the years, he has worked on Ermenegildo Pistelli, Sauro Marianelli, Gianni Rodari, Erri De Luca, Leonardo Sciascia, Sandro Onofri and Eraldo Affinati, deepening his research into the intersection between children's literature and childhood in literature, with specific references to the historical and pedagogical horizons found in Italian and foreign literary production. In this vein, seeking traces of childhood and childhood experiences in the greatest classics of Italian literary tradition, he has investigated the theme of “Dante and young people in education”. He has published a monograph on the school of Puoti titled Lo “Studio” del Marchese. La modernità pedagogica della Scuola di Basilio Puoti, Edizioni Sinestesie, Avellino 2020, in which he highlighted the innovative teaching methods of Puoti, promoter of a new concept of pedagogy based on the moral and intellectual growth of the many young people who attended his school. Furthermore, in 2023 he published a monograph titled La scuola tra le pagine. Per una pedagogia delle immagini letterarie, Edizioni Sinestesie, Avellino 2023, in which he recounts the many stories and “memories” of school that have accompanied teachers and professors from the authoritarian and hierarchical teaching of the past to the modern pedagogy of activism and democratic participation, fuelling the development of a collective school memory.
He has taught History of Education, History of Pedagogy, and Literature and Reading for Early Childhood at the Department of Human, Philosophical and Educational Sciences at the University of Salerno. He is a teacher trainer, freelance journalist since December 1990 and President of A.s.d.
