Marianna Cosentino is Tenure Track Researcher in Medical Histology and Embryology (SSD BIO/17 now 05/BIOS-13 13A) at the Department of Life Sciences, Health and Health Professions, Link Campus University." She attained a PhD in Morphogenesis and Tissue Engineering at La Sapienza University, Rome in 2021 and has been a member of the National Order of Biologists since 2024. Previously, she served as a research fellow at La Sapienza University of Rome. She participated in several research projects both at a national and international level, collaborating with various academic institutions and contributing to the publication of various scientific articles in journals of international relevance. Her commitment to research has been recognized through various awards, including the Monesi Rizzoli Prize for the best scientific research in Medical Histology and Embryology. In 2021, she won the IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research grant and obtained funding to initiate innovative projects in the biomedical field. In addition, she has actively participated in numerous national and international courses, conferences and congresses, both as an auditor and as a speaker and member of the scientific committee. Her research interests focus on regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, with specific focus on cellular interactions in tissue healing and repair processes. Her work focuses on the development of innovative devices and the creation of three-dimensional constructs, with the aim to study the molecular mechanisms that contribute to the onset of various muscle diseases and generating in vitro platforms for drug screening. Said devices are designed to facilitate translational research and promote the implementation of clinical applications in the field of biomedicine.
