Massimo Gaiani is an Italian diplomat who reached the rank of Ambassador, the highest in the diplomatic career, in 2020.

He retired from the diplomatic career in June 2023. He is currently in charge of the International and European Affairs Department of the- National School of Administration - SNA - and since September 2023 he holds the position of Executive Director of the OECD Training Center for "Public Governance" located in the SNA headquarters in Caserta. He coordinates a course at Link University.

During his career, he was Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Turkey from (2019 - 2021), Director General for Global Issues and for Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (2015 - 2018), Ambassador of Italy to Albania (2011 - 2015), Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister for European Affairs (2005 - 2011) also holding, from 2006 to 2011 the position of Director General of the European Union Policy Office at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Head of the Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee for European Affairs. Previously, he held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, Italian diplomatic representations in Montreal, Brussels (Permanent Representation to the EU) and Washington.

The professor is available to receive the students at the end of the lessons. However, the students may also request an appointment by email.
