Valentina Vassallo, fixed-term researcher, SSD BIO/10 at Link Campus University. In 2015, she received her Master's degree in Medical Biotechnology (LM09) at the Faculty of Biotechnological Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II, and, in 2021, her PhD in Biochemical and Biotechnological Sciences at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. SSD: BIO/10.
Instead, in 2017, she attained her license to practice as a biologist, Section A, at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”.
From 2021 to 2024, she was a teaching assistant for BIOCHEMISTRY for the Degree Course Techniques for Prevention and Safety in the Workplace, at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. SSD: BIO/10.
In 2021, she collaborated with an international research group at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) Institute of Interfacial Process Engineering and Plasma Technology as a Visiting PhD Student.
Her research activity is documented by 17 publications in international journals (peer-reviewed with impact factor). Her scientific work is focused on the development of primary cell cultures from different body districts (bone, cartilage, synovial fluid, fat, bone marrow) in order to evaluate their biological response to stimulation with different glycosaminoglycan formulations of extractive and/or biofermentative origin.
Throughout the recent years, she has particularly focused on the study of inflammatory and degenerative-based diseases (osteoarticular) for the development of biomaterials and scaffolds based on chemically modified biopolymers for the study of the process of tissue regeneration and/or cell differentiation.
