Alessandra Di Paola is fixed-term researcher in Applied Biology (SSD BIO/13) at the Department of Life Sciences, Health and Health Professions, "Lin Campus University".

In 2017, she attained a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Naples 'Federico II'. In 2018 she attained the licence to practice as a Biologist and since 2021 she has been duly registered in the professional register of the National Order of Biologists - Section A. In 2021, she obtained a PhD in Translational Medicine at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli".
Since 2021, she is research fellow at the Laboratory of Cell and Molecular Biology of the Department of Women, Children and General and Specialist Surgery at Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”.  She participated in national and international research projects, collaborating with various academic institutions and has published several scientific articles in international journals. She was a tutor for laboratory activities and final dissertations for doctoral and post-doctoral students at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Nursing at the Laboratory of Cell and Molecular Biology of the Department of Women, Children and General and Specialist Surgery at Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. 

She is a member of the Italian Association of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (AIEOP) and the Italian Association of General and Molecular Biology and Genetics (AIBG). 

Her research interests are mainly related to the study of biological, cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of paediatric oncological and haematological diseases in order to identify early markers and possible new signalling pathways involved in the onset of said diseases.
