Alessio Ceccherelli is Associate Professor in Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes (GSPS-06A). He attained a Ph.D. in Sociology of Communication and Entertainment Sciences at the University of Studies “Carlo Bo” in Urbino, with a final dissertation on the mediology of video games. He attained a degree in Literature at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, final dissertation a thesis on Leopardi and Gadda.
He focuses on media, narratives and the imaginary, with specific focus on the ways in which the imaginary absorbs, reprocesses and returns information that comes from ongoing social transformation.
His research area is mainly related to the mediology of literature, the sociology of the imaginary, narrative forms in media, and the relationship between technologies and educational communication.
Recently, he published: Figure del controllo. Jane Austen, Sherlock Holmes e Dracula nell’immaginario transmediale del XXI secolo (2021, with Emiliano Ilardi). Ha curato e tradotto Hermes 1. La comunicazione di Michel Serres (2022, with Giovanni Boccia Artieri), and Introduzione alla mediologia di Régis Debray (2023, with Emiliano Ilardi).
