Angelo Girolami (Rome, May 31, 1987) is a professor for the Ministry of Education and Merit and University and Research and is a licensed Biologist. He currently holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Biology at Link Campus University, Città di Castello campus, where he teaches Elements of Comparative Anatomy. In addition, at the Camillus International University of Health and Medical Science in Rome, he teaches disciplines pertaining to the anthropo-psycho-pedagogical field, including Special Education and Insight for Sensory Disabilities, Special Pedagogy in Intellectual Disability and Generalized Developmental Disorders, Child Neuropsychiatry, Didactics of Education and Anthropological Area, and Special Education with the Use of Communication and Information Technologies in specialization courses for support activities in Secondary School.
In the year 2023-2024, he held teaching activities in the workshops Codes of Logical and Mathematical Language, Psycho-educational and Teaching Interventions with Relational Disorders, Didactics of Education and Anthropological Area at Link Campus University (RM), University of Roma Tre Rome, University of Foro Italico Rome, European University of Rome and University of Tuscia in Viterbo, as part of the specialization courses for special education aimed at teachers.
Furthermore, he was a member of the examining board at the University of Foro Italico for access to the eighth cycle of the specialization pathway for support activities.
Since 2015, he has been working as a teacher of Mathematics and Science in Secondary School and of Natural, Chemical and Biological Sciences in Secondary School and in Vocational Education and Training (IeFP) pathways. Within this context, he has held, over the years, the positions of internal commissioner and secretary in state examinations in first and second grade Secondary School.
Regarding his academic background, in 2010 he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences with honors, with a dissertation in Zoology titled Protozoa of zoological interest, aspects related to the relationship with humans. In 2013, he obtained with honors his Master's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology (LM6), with a degree in Dietetics and Functional Foods entitled Study of the role of Salvia Hispanica L. seeds in SHR rats for the formulation of functional foods potentially useful to hypertensive subjects.
He attained several postgraduate degrees, including three annual Masters in Teaching Methodologies for the Integration of Students with Specific Learning Disorders, Teaching Methodologies for the Integration of Students with Special Educational Needs, and Sociology and Methodology of Teaching in Science Teachings. In 2019, he attained a specialization for support activities in Secondary School, and during his career, he won three national competitions for teaching in Secondary School.
Within the school context, she he held the roles of Instrumental Function for Inclusion and Integrated Digital Didactics, as well Education Coordinator for Bullying and Cyberbullying, engaging in school projects for the prevention of these phenomena, the expansion of educational offerings and the improvement of the Plan for Inclusion.
In February 2024, he attained a Master's Degree in Applied Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology (LM51), with a final dissertation in Psychology of Disability and Rehabilitation entitled The complexity of the world in visual impairment: perceptual aspects and exploratory pathways in diversity. Starting from the academic year 2024/2025, he has been appointed as Coordinating Tutor at the Unicusano University of Rome in the qualifying pathways for teachers (Art. 10 of DPCM August 4, 2023).
As a trainer, Angelo Girolami is interested in issues related to Neuroscience, especially the study of active teaching strategies and methodologies in the learning/teaching process and disability-related aspects.
