
Annalisa Plava is Associate Professor of General Sociology (SPS/07). Her interests focus on the intersection between health, digital technology, and methodology, with a particular interest in the development of creative methods in dialogue with traditional ones in research-learning and care relationships.
In 2023, she obtained a PhD in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Bologna with a dissertation on childhood obesity, eating habits, and lifestyles during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She was a research fellow for the following projects: ALMA IDEA “Pro.Dono. Propensioni e ostacoli alla donazione del corpo post-mortem alla scienza” (Pro.Dono. Propensities and obstacles to donating one's body to science after death), which led to the creation of the graphic novel “Il primo paziente” (The First Patient) (Tunuè, 2024); and Horizon 2020 "EITHOS. European Identity Theft Observatory System," which led to the development of a visual care kit to support victims of online identity theft.
She collaborated with the Centre for Studies and Research in Social Dynamics and Health (CEIDSS) on the World Health Organization's Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative project. He is a member of the Center for Advanced Studies on the Humanization of Care and Social Health (CeUmS) and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Social Rights (CRIDS) at the University of Bologna.
She is also coordinator of the monographic issues of the journal “Salute e Società” (Health and Society).
