Fernando Battista is an associate professor (Scientific Disciplinary Sector PAED-01/A General and Social Pedagogy) at Link Campus University, Rome. In 2025, he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the position of Associate Professor in the SSD PAED-01/A. In 2023, he obtained his Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Research at RomaTre University with a dissertation on the use of dance and dance movement therapy in intercultural education. Since 2019, she has been a lecturer on the Level I Master's Degree in Art Therapy at Roma Tre University and, since 2023, at the Catholic University of Milan. Since 2019, he has also been a professor on the Level II Master in Intercultural Education at Roma Tre University. In the same year, he also began collaborating with the CREIFOS research group for intercultural studies coordinated by Prof. Massimiliano Fiorucci.

In the academic year 2022-2023 he taught Pedagogy of Communications (L-3) at the DAMS of RomaTre University, and at the same university he was a member of the teaching staff of the specialization course (TFA support) in Didactics of Education and Anthropology; in the academic year 2023-24, Didactics and Special Pedagogy (L-19) at the Guglielmo Marconi University of Rome; in the same year, the specialisation course (TFA support) at the University of RomaTre and the University of Foro Italico in Didactics of Education and Anthropology.

Since 2000, he has been a Dance Movement Therapist SV, Trainer - APID® and member of the Research Commission; Expressive Counsellor, Trainer SV-Assocounseling, of which he is part of the Scientific Committee. His activities and research focus on topics related to education, interculturalism, pedagogical action aimed at well-being in educational institutions, and the training of teachers, educators and practitioners in intercultural, relational and psychophysical pedagogical practices for inclusion and well-being. 

He participated in various national and international research groups within his areas of expertise, taking part in several Erasmus KA2 projects.

He authored several publications in national and international books and journals. Among his most recent publications is the book Pedagogia del Confine (Junior-Spaggiari editions), which won the SIPED 2025 Award, a research project involving students from a Roman high school and migrants from different places and cultures, using dance movement therapy, counselling and artistic languages as intercultural pedagogical tools against prejudice.
During her career as a secondary school teacher, she has held various positions as a state exam commissioner, member of the judging panels for TFA courses, and tutor for teachers in their probationary year and internship.
