Graduated in 2013 in Chemical Sciences at the University of Naples "Federico II", she obtained a PhD in "Biomedical Sciences and Technologies" at the University of Roma Tre. In 2023, she obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the position of University Professor of the Associate Professor in the competitive sector 05/D1 - PHYSIOLOGY (SSD BIO/09).
She participated in several research projects in the field of physiology, attained research grants and scholarships at the University of Rome 'Roma Tre' and at the University of Naples 'Federico II', and worked as Scientist Visitor at the Structural Biology Centre of the Human Technopole Institute (Milan).
Her research activity is focused on the study of the modulation of the signalling pathways activated by the binding between the steroid hormone 17β-estradiol (E2) and the two oestrogen receptors (ER) α and β underlying the balance between cell proliferation and cell death, fundamental physiological mechanisms for survival. These studies are focused on the ability of exogenous molecules to interfere with the signalling pathways activated by the E2:ERα and E2:ERβ complexes, acting as agonists or antagonists of E2 in binding the two receptors, and thus capable of significantly influencing cell proliferation and/or cell death.
She participated as a speaker of communications and/or posters at various national and international congresses. He is among the authors of several abstracts at national and international congresses. He is currently a reviewer in leading national and international journals.
