Her research activity is mainly related to the study of emergency and crisis situations, with a focus on processes of environmental, social, urban and political transformation and the relationship between anthropological knowledge and other sciences. She has acquired expertise in the analysis of violence, trauma, suffering and vulnerability. She has investigated forms of community participation, activism and resistance, considering the social, working and existential conditions of subjects, as well as related forms of marginality and exclusion. She focused on analyzing policies and services at the local, national and supranational levels, administrative, bureaucratic and legal “rituals,” multicultural contexts, processes of identity/alterity construction and the nexus of migration, labor and digitization.
She is a member of national and international research groups and has authored two monographs, essays that have appeared in scientific volumes and journals of national and international relevance, and several popular articles. She has participated as a speaker, panel coordinator and member of the scientific and/or organizing committee at various conferences and congresses.
Between 2020 and 2024 she was an adjunct professor in M-DEA/01 at several Italian universities (UniBo, UniMoRe, UniVe). Between 2021 and 2023 she was an expert professor/trainer in anthropological subjects, especially in reference to the concepts of culture, race, ethnicity, identity, and migration, at some third sector institutions.
