Stefania Carioli Stefania Carioli is associate professor (S.S.D. M-PED/02 – S.C. 11/D1, currently S.S.D. PAED-01/B History of Pedagogy and Education – G.S.D. 11/PAED-01) at "Link Campus University".
She graduated at the University of Florence, where she collaborated mainly with the chair of "Literature for children" (Prof. Flavia Bacchetti and Prof. Silvia Cantelli) and where she participated in the activities of the laboratory of research, training and teaching "Public History of Education". Her main research interests are the following: Literature for children and adolescence and Pedagogy of reading, with historical approach, critic-literary, and educational and with particular reference to the implications related to digital; the figure of Gianni Rodari; the history and current events of the Maria Montessori's Pedagogy.
She taught “Storia: linee di sviluppo storico della Letteratura per l’infanzia nell’Ottocento e nel Novecento” at the University of Padua (Rovigo Branch); "Letteratura per l'infanzia" at the University of Trieste, the University of Udine, and the University of Urbino.
She designed and conducted numerous workshops on Children's Literature at the University of Bologna, the University of Padua, the University of Trieste, the University of Urbino and at the University of Florence in the role of University Tutor Organiser of the single-cycle degree course in Primary Education (LM-85 bis), from 2017 to 2021.
On the subject of the effects of the digital on the narrative horizon aimed at preadolescents and adolescents and their way of being readers, in 2022 she published Connections. Viaggio nelle narrazioni per l'infanzia e l'adolescenza sull'onda trasformativa del digitale, Milan, Franco Angeli, recognised with the SIPED Prize 2024.
As part of the "Talent Italy" Programme, she was scientific co-responsible for the project admitted for funding "Stop and Think. Modeling the Process of Online Reading Comprehension Using Think Aloud'', in response to the MOOC Competitive Call - D.D. 514 of 20/2/2014 - MIUR, Department for Universities, Artistic, Musical and Choreographic Higher Education and Research - Directorate General for Research Coordination and Development.
With Cardiff University (UK) as host university, in 2023 it presented a Project on the theme “Lettura estetica profonda e Letteratura per l’infanzia e l’adolescenza”, in response to the Call: HORIZON-MSCA-2023-PF-01. The project achieved a total score of 92.80%.
Visiting Scholar nel 2015 at University of Rhode Island - Providence Feinstein Campus (US) - for in-depth studies on topics related to Digital Reading and Literature for Children and Adolescents.
Visiting Professor in 2022 at Universitat de València Departament de Didàctica de la Llengua i la Literatura.
A speaker at numerous national and international conferences, she will take part in the Round Table: “Reading as a right” as part of the International Congress 2024 of IBBY (International Board on Book for Young people) to be held in Trieste, Italy, from 30 August to 1 September 2024.
In her career as a primary school teacher - both in common and support positions - she has held various positions such as Tutor of teachers in the probationary year, Objective Function, Institute Representative for participation in school network projects, Teacher Trainer.
