Stefano Dugheri is Associate Professor in Occupational Medicine at Link Campus University. His work, teaching and research activities are related to the industrial context with the aim of identifying and preventing risks related to production activities and ensuring a monitoring and evaluation service of occupational exposure. His scientific and educational research activities, as well as the activities congruent with them in the field of occupational medicine and preventive medicine in occupational settings, are related to occupational hygiene, epidemiology, toxicology and ergonomics competencies. His research activity is also focused on recent innovative robotic automation technologies developed on ifenate, miniaturized techniques of biological/environmental matrices for the realization of robust and sensitive monitoring methodologies with optimization of resource consumption in line with what is required by current international standards. His studies also include, the development of new active and passive sampling systems and substrates for the capture of airborne pollutants. He acquired considerable skills in the monitoring and in occupational exposure assessment in hospital settings for compounds such as formaldehyde, anesthetic gases, antiblastic drugs, peracetic acid, glutaraldehyde, and hydrogen peroxide. He acquired many years' experience in occupational exposure assessment for volatile organic compounds and metals of interest to human health and environmental hygiene, with special reference to scenarios such as petrochemical plants and chemical industries.
He authored more than 180 scientific publications and was invited as speaker at more than 20 international and national conferences; he has taken part in numerous research projects. Member of Società Italiana di Medicina del Lavoro (SIML) and of Associazione Italiana degli Igienisti Industriali (AIDII) for which he was President of the Tuscany/Emilia-Romagna Territorial Section (TER) from 2015 to 2017. Member of the Chemical Agents Working Group of the UNICHIM Work Environments Commission since 2005.
