She graduated in 2015 with a Degree in Biology, attained at the University of Naples Federico II and attained a PhD in 2020 at the Biology Department of the above-mentioned university.

In 2023, she attained the National scientific qualification for the position of university professor of Associate Professor in the 05/A1 Competi Sector - BOTANICS. 

She was Adjunct Professor of BOTANICS at the University of Naples Federico II. 

Her research activity is mainly focused on the study of bioactive plant-extracted molecules with antitumour, antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant activity. She studies the protective effects of plant extracts, such as essential oils, on plants subjected to abiotic stress. Furthermore, she investigates the biological responses of tox-tolerant plants to heavy metals. Her research activity is characterised by a rewarding collaboration with international universities, where she spent long periods of study, such as the University of Lisbon and the University of Crete.

She authored 43 scientific publication and 1 book chapter, with 670 citations and an H-index of 17. She has publications in Q1 and Q2 journals, many of them as first or corresponding name, and is Guest editor of several Q1 journals.

She participated as a communications and/or poster speaker in 10 national and international congresses. She is among the authors of more than 20 abstracts at national and international congresses.

Furthermore, she is a member of organising committees of both national and international congresses. 

She carries out her research activity in the laboratories of the Biology Department of the University of Naples Federico II, often serving as co-tutor for Bachelor's, Master's and PhD dissertations.
