Finish date: 09/10/2013
Client/Partner/RTI:
KDM S.p.A
Partnership

Description:
Exploiting the latest proximity technologies, such as RFID, NFC, Picture Recognition (QRCode, etc.), it is possible to plan new ways of interaction in the more traditional areas of transport, tourism and cultural heritage, through non-invasive and low-cost installations, both in structured environments such as museums, churches, bus terminals, tourist offices, etc., and in urban settings, and to implement new systems for accessing these services, such as proximity and mobile payments. The MoCy project intends to realise:
• the design and development of a new mobile remote payment platform - the design and development of remote proximity payment services via NFC
• the design and development of a service platform for the distribution of content formats and the provision of infomobility services;
• validation of platform development through pilot testing.
The objectives of the project are the following:
• the valorisation of tourism and cultural resources, which are the basis of the region's tourism industry, through the development of technologies and services that improve their usability and user experience;
• the improvement of the offer of mobility services, enabling an increased use of public and sustainable transport;
• the introduction of new access systems for unified services, allowing the use of a single key to use (and pay for) a variety of services

Activities carried out:

Title: Automation Information System in Agriculture

Start date: 14/05/2013
Finish date: 14/02/2015
Client/Partner/RTI;
Polis-Net Srl

Description:
One of the potentially most important tools for farmers would be real-time knowledge of weather and climate conditions, related to the characteristics of soils in the cultivation area and their moisture and fertility conditions. SIAA (Automation Information System in Agriculture) aims to meet this need through a Research & Development project for the purpose of:
• geolocalizing agricultural companies using that service and the related
• identifying the meteorological and climatic parameters os said agricultural companies in real time
• identifying the level parameters of soil humidity and fertility in real time
• gathering further agronomic information on said agricultural companies (e.g. chemical-physical analysis of soils, webcams for detecting infestations or growth rates)
• creating a single central system of the above-mentioned data
• organizing the data according to directives and agronomic parameters
• correlating them automatically with the aim of providing optimised cultivation strategies for the farmer in terms of
energy, environmentl, economy, production
• making this organised database available and searchable via the Web from any device
• remotely manage, through an automized technological infrastructure, the automation of irrigation and fertigation based on the measured parameters
• observing the effects of the interventions carried out on crops through dedicated sensors and webcams.

Activities carried out:
- Analysis of database and user requirements
- Integration of components and realisation of interfaces
- Collection of user feedback on the pilot implementation of the prototype

Title: My SmartBuy

Start date: 05/08/2013
Finish date: 02/05/2015
Client/Partner/RTI:
· Citec
· Gambero Rosso Holding Spa
· Mashfrog Spa
·  (Leader)

Description:
The MySmartBuy project aims to realise an electronic commerce (e-commerce) platform that can be used via SmartTV, combining on the one hand the characteristics of television as a showcase for physical and digital products and, on the other hand, offering an Internet connection that makes the shopping experience similar to the one currently made online via PC.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to develop a tool specifically dedicated to the management of purchases and payments through SmartTVs, and aiming to reduce the gap between different media (PC/tablet and TV sets), the project wants to assert itself in a market that in Italy, in 2012, confirmed the positive trend of previous years, with growth of 18% compared to 2011, reaching almost EUR 11 billion.
In this context, the realization of a targeted platform for e-commerce turns out to be an element of innovativeness in a scenario where e-commerce is still limited to online platforms, mainly accessible via desktop PCs, and increasingly via mobile devices.
The market entry sector, that of food&beverage and 'luxury food', will be valorised both through the construction of the product catalogue and communication to the target users. Furthermore, since Gambero Rosso is a platform in the food and wine sector with an 'institutional' value, its presence will guarantee the project a great return in terms of MySmartBuy's visibility, publicising it both on the national and international market.

Activities carried out:
- The structure of the platform, once established and publicised through the project, can also be replicated and re-presented in other distribution channels (e.g. large-scale retail trade) and other market sectors.
Activities carried out:
- Report on the definition of user needs and usability interfaces
- Multi-channel and multi-device interaction
- Smart TV: analysis of interaction and its strengths and weaknesses
- Desktop PC: interaction analysis and related strengths and weaknesses
- Smartphone: analysis of interaction and its strengths and weaknesses
- Tablet: analysis of interaction and its strengths and weaknesses
- User-centred design
- My SmartBuy: User Need-User Requirement and Usability Requirement
- Design document sel integrated system
- Interface realisation
