Purposes

The Master is articulated in didactic modules designed to provide knowledge on the best scientific and technical knowledge in the IT sector (even 5th generation) for evironmental purposes such as geographic data; aerophotogrammetric surveys, environmental monitoring and diagnostics; creation of digital terrain models, from 2D and 3D cartography to B.I.M. (Building information modelling), sectors in which Link Campus University offers a specific compency deriving from the Geo-SAPR Research Centre (Geomatics and  Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) active for several years, thanks to which the University has achieved recognition as the first Italian university center authorized by Enac to issue qualifications for drone piloting.

This technological tool represents an efficiency enhancer in the public context.

However, it requires qualified and specific training aimed at civil servants and managers of the Public Administration, in particular those related to the civil and military Police Forces, the Local Police, ISPRA and the Environmental Protection Agencies, the Park Authorities and the civil protection structures specialised in territorial control and environmental protection activities, and regional and municipal authorities.

Environmental safety and technological innovation are a constant in all institutional levels, representing key elements of the essential interests of the country. Environmental crime and related phenomena, events of anthropic and natural origin, has been drawing increasing attention to the population, demanding strict prevention activities for the restoration of ordinary wellness and environmental conditions in case of incident.

The operational tools developed within the framework of the Master offer PA employees a unique opportunity for cultural and professional growth.

Target Students and Career Opportunities

The aim of the Master is to provide graduate students (engineers, biologists, agronomists, geologists, graduates in forestry, computer technicians, graduates in law) and experts in the field (legal studies specialized in evironmental protection, engineers, CTU experts, Journalists specialized in the environmental field) with a unique opportunity for professional and cultural growth.

Furthermore, the Master provides a great opportunity for the training of executives and directors of societies providing services to the Public Administrations such as: waste management, decontamination, electro-magnetic pollution (5G), wastewater treatment, purifiers. The course even provides the competencies required to professionally support the Civil Society in addressing challenges related to security and environmental health, as well as a complete vision of the tools required for the programmation and environmental protection.

The master gives a complete view of the tools required for the programming and maintanaince of the environment, the territory and the buildings.

The University intends to always be in line with the development of the national and european legislation. Therefore, in the light of the present and future regulatory development (ENAC, EU), the University has adapted the learning pathway of he Master with a view to prepare the candidate for the test on the ENAC portal, fully operational as of 1 July 2020, in order to obtain A1/A3 category piloting aptitude, and at the same time to issue all further skills related to the use of APRs and the environmental sensors with which they are equipped, which are essential for the professional use of these means for environmental protection and safety monitoring activities.

Admission

Applicants to the Master must have attained a Specialist Degree, a Master's Degree, and/or a Degree of the Old System, obtained at a University of the Italian Republic; as well as another equivalent Higher Institute, or a degree attained at an International University, provided that said Degree Title is legally recognized in Italy.

The candidates in possession of an acamic title obtained abroad must be in possession of the declaration of value of the aforementioned qualification, issued by the competent Italian diplomatic or consular representatives of the country in which they obtained the qualification.

Each candidate of Master's Degree is required to prepare a professional training Project Work consistent with the topics covered by the course.

Said Project Work is an integral part of the Master's teaching activity, and is subject to assessment, providing 15 university training credits (CFU).

The aim of the final project is to submit one or more innovative and/or improving solutions through an in-depth study of context variables, processes and application models. The project may involve either the innovation of an activity, or the setting up or changing of an organisational structure, or even the improvement of a new operational procedure or the development of a new process.

The PW can be individual or group: in the latter case, the individual contribution will be subject to specific evaluation.

The candidates will be required to take a final test at the end of each Unit. The grade attained for each test (expressed in thirtieths) will be an integral part of the final grade of the Master.
