LEARNING PATHWAYS
Filmmaker
The aim of the learning pathway is to train a Filmmaker, a professional figure capable of realizing an audiovisual project, from the development to the realization of the finished product, dealing personally with all stages of the process.
The learning pathway provides theoretical and practical knowledge required to carry out the work of Filmmaker, intended as a creative professional who combines humanistic knowledge with skills acquired behind the camera and directing actors and actresses, writing scripts, managing lighting systems, editing and post-production. A professional who masters digital technologies and the organizational and management tools of the film, television, and multimedia industries.
Since the very first year, the learning pathway gives ample space to laboratories, enabling the students to put the technical-theoretical knowledge learned into practice.
The course of study is supported by the authoritative expertise of professors, academic figures and professionals, thanks to the permanent link established by the University with regional cultural industries and the involvement of different thematic research centers in the University.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In order to be admitted to the Degree Course, it is necessary to hold an upper secondary school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable by current regulations.
At the same time, the students must possess adequate knowledge of general culture and logic-mathematics, as well as text comprehension skills.
Furthermore, required knowledge and language skills consistent with the language of delivery of the Course of Study and/or individual curriculum.
The verification of the possession of the knowledge required for access is done by means of an appropriate test.
In case the aforementioned test gives a negative result, the students will have to fulfill a series of specific additional educational obligations (OFA) within the first year of the course.
TUTORING
The course supports students through 4 different types of tutoring:
- Orientation and transversal tutoring, carried out by Education Coordinators, aimed at supporting the students in the reception phase, introducing them into the university life, monitoring their learning pathway, motiving them throughout the course (with special reference to the planned results), supporting them in bureaucratic procedures, the latter in collaboration with the Student Administration Office;
- international tutoring, carried out by the International Office, which wil offer personalized assistance to both international students enrolled in the degree course and Erasmus students;
- didactic tutoring, provided by the didactic support staff (teaching assistants, doctoral students, holders of supplementary teaching contracts, etc.), who will support the students with supplementary teaching activities related to the specific subjects of the learning pathways;
- specialized tutoring, carried out by Education Coordination for inclusion, aimed at students with disabilities or specific learning disorders and special educational needs, aimed at reducing the obstacles that might prevent their full integration in the academic environment.
WORKSHOPS
The workshop activities are designed as moments of learning by doing, through which the students will acquire and/or refine soft skills (team work, problem solving, leadership, communication skills, etc.), increasingly fundamental in the labour maket. Furthermore, workshops represent opportunities for in-depth experiential learning in direct contact with professionals in the field.
In order to enrich and vary the offering of hands-on workshops and orient it to the real needs of professional positioning in an industry that is constantly and rapidly evolving, the DAMS workshops change every year, involving professional lecturers already active in the performing arts and audiovisual system.
The workshops planned for the year 2023 and 2024 are:

FINAL DISSERTATION
The final dissertation consists in the discussion, before a special committee, of a written paper prepared under the guidance of a professor, on a topic related to a discipline in which the student has taken an examination.
While not requiring specific characteristics of originality, the paper should demonstrate the acquired mastery of the analytical tools learned in the course of study, the ability to integrate the diversified disciplinary knowledge learned, as well as the communication skills suitable for a fruitful entry into the labour market and/or the continuation of the educational path in the two-year master's degree program.
The paper may be written and discussed in Italian and/or English.
The manner of conducting the final examination and its timing are defined in the academic calendar, published on the University website and communicated by the Student Administration Office.
